Wellbeing at Work Awards, is an evidence-based programme, designed to improve workplace health and wellbeing and is suitable for businesses with over twenty-five employees.

The Wellbeing at Work Awards Programme is supported by the Public Health England and Business in the Community Toolkit, which offers expert advice, real-life case studies, practical guidance, and links to valuable wellbeing resources.

Bronze

To achieve the Wellbeing at Work Awards, businesses will be required to complete an assessment document covering the following three core criteria and submit supporting evidence to demonstrate their progress and commitment to staff health and wellbeing.

  1. Set up a Wellbeing Steering Group.
  2. Complete a Workplace Needs Assessment.
  3. Develop a Wellbeing Action Plan.

Silver

To achieve the Silver Wellbeing at Work Award, businesses are invited to choose three wellbeing topics based on their health needs assessment and action plan. We recommend reading the toolkit thoroughly before starting the assessment document.

  • Physical activity, healthy eating and healthier weight
  • Drugs alcohol and tobacco
  • Reducing the risk of suicide
  • Musculoskeletal health in the workplace
  • Domestic abuse

Gold

Choose four further toolkits and assessments to achieve a Gold Award.

Award Process

  1. Bronze Award – Complete three core criteria and assessment.
  2. Collect Award – Organisations will receive both a physical award and a digital certificate.
  3. Silver Award – Complete three toolkits and assessments
  4. Collect Award – Organisations will receive both a physical award and a digital certificate.
  5. Gold Award – Complete four further toolkits and assessments.
  6. Collect Award – Organisations will receive both a physical award and a digital certificate.

Review of Wellbeing at Work Awards

The Bronze Award is reviewed every two years, while the Silver and Gold Awards are reviewed every three years. These review periods provide an opportunity to monitor progress, celebrate achievements, and support the ongoing development of your organisation’s Health and Wellbeing Action Plan.
