Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST)

We provide Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) at competitive rates for businesses and community groups in Plymouth. This two-day, evidence-based course teaches participants how to recognise signs of suicidal thoughts and intervene safely. ASIST helps build a suicide-aware community by equipping individuals with practical tools to support those at risk and promote immediate safety.

Why attend Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training?

ASIST teaches you how to recognise when someone may be experiencing suicidal thoughts and helps you understand how and when to act. You won’t be trained as a therapist, but you will learn practical, supportive skills to work with someone in crisis and help create a plan that supports their immediate safety.

This is a two-day interactive course designed to build your confidence in identifying risk and intervening to prevent the immediate risk of suicide. It’s suitable for individuals in both workplace and community settings who want to make a meaningful difference.

Our experienced trainers provide a safe, supportive learning environment where participants are encouraged to engage, share, and support one another throughout the training.

Please note: Due to the nature of this training, we only provide this in person. Furthermore, this course includes role-play activities, which may distress some delegates.

You must be 18 and over to attend this course.

This course is available only for those living or working within the Plymouth community.
